A black and white photo blog

Some of the most amazing photojournalism on queer communities.

My friend Syd is amazing.  In her own words:  ”Syd London holds a deep reverence for the potential power of the photographic image.  Her passion is story telling of subcultures that are often ignored, misunderstood, or mis-portrayed.  She strives to communicate the visceral moments of what is ultimately a shared human experience.”

Syd also has been working without a camera or equipment for two years.  Check out her work about and donate!  Every dollar helps.  She is dedicated to producing images of queer and marginalized people and telling their stories.  Our stories.  This is her flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/syditious/.  Contact her at syd@sydlondon.com for information about donating or working with her!

In the community of Black and White blogs, there is so much beauty. Beauty in different ways, be it black and white photo blogs that celebrate photography as an art, be it black and white morbid blogs, black and white blogs dedicated to the negative times in our lives, what have you. We all can recognize beauty and we all can help each other out when necessary. So I’m calling to you, Tumblr community of black and white blogs to recognize the beauty in these photographs and help a photographer out. She’s a friend of a friend who I believe really deserves to be working with her own camera and equipment. Please take the time to look at her work and donate if you can. And pass the message along as well. It would mean the world. Thank you kindly. Stay lovely. :)

every little bit counts - lots of cliches are true

madelinethelion:

Another gem I remembered today: every little bit counts.  The problems of the world are too daunting to expect to fix them all, or even a substantial amount.  But, every act of justice or love or redemption counts.  Don’t be discouraged if you feel overwhelmed by the brokenness of the world.  Instead, take what gifts and resources you have and exhaust them for the good of the world and the people of the world.  If everyone agrees to do this, perhaps a significant force will be mobilized.

“Faker!” too real, y’all, too real.

This is absolutely terrifying. Just look at it, it is so real and astonishing. You need to reblog this. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging orange, teenage girls with vans on. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging vintage or photography. This is real. You can even see the fury in his eyes. The tense muscles in between his fingers. The heavy breathing.

some people will never realize how much certain words can hurt others. STOP CYBER BULLYING
